Elko had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the Douglas Tigers with a sharp 21-0 win on Friday. The Indians have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

Ethan Kraintz was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 110 yards and one TD, and also threw for 86 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Douglas is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Elko has already played their next match, a 26-15 victory against Fernley on the 29th. As for Douglas, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Sutter at 7:30 p.m. on September 5.
