Baseball Game Preview: Northside - Pinetown Panthers vs. Jones Trojans

For the second straight game, Northside - Pinetown will face off against Jones. The Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Trojans at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Northside - Pinetown is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Jones a 14-0 shutout on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won eight in a row.

Jayden Bass looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Northside - Pinetown let Holden Boykin and Blake Wainwright run wild. Boykin went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI, while Wainwright scored two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most RBI Boykin has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Trexler Gray, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Northside - Pinetown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Jones' loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Northside - Pinetown, their victory bumped their record up to 5-11.
