Volleyball Recap: Marcus Marauders vs. Little Elm Lobos
Marcus needed a changed in momentum after dropping five straight games and they got it from Cooke Addelyn. The Marcus Marauders put the hurt on the Little Elm Lobos with a sharp 3-0 win on Friday thanks in part to Addelyn, who had 24 digs and two aces. Those two aces gave her a new career-high.
Marcus got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 33-31, 27-25.
Ortmeier Emerson paced Marcus' offense, picking up 15 kills. Emerson got some help from
Laina Schiegg and her 26 assists.
Little Elm's loss came despite strong showings from Isabella Bueno and Gaby Myers. Bueno had 27 digs, while Myers had 11 digs and three aces. Bueno is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in the last 15 games she's played.
Marcus' victory bumped their record up to 7-29. As for Little Elm, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 23-19 record this season.
