Preview: Lynwood Knights vs. Yucaipa Thunderbirds

Two dominant guards in Jason Crowe Jr and Malik Young are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Lynwood Knights will head out on the road to challenge the Yucaipa Thunderbirds at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

With a playoff game on the line, Lynwood rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They breezed by the Bears at home to the tune of 103-34. Lynwood has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 20 points or more this season.

Chace Holley and Crowe Jr were among the main playmakers for Lynwood as the former dropped a double-double on 18 points and 19 rebounds and the latter scored 31 points along with five steals. Crowe Jr is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 22 every time he's taken the court this season. Jahaz Wright was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.

Meanwhile, Yucaipa scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They really took it to Bethel Christian for the full four quarters, racking up a 80-43 victory on the road. The victory was familiar territory for Yucaipa who now have four in a row.

It was another big night for Jonathan Campbell, who scored 27 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Angel Montoya, who scored eight points.

The victory makes it two in a row for Lynwood and bumps their season record up to 20-9. As for Yucaipa, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-14 record this season.
