Basketball Game Preview: Pawhuska Huskies vs. Morrison Wildcats

The Pawhuska Huskies just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Morrison Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Pawhuska is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.

Pawhuska saw some tournament action on Thursday. They blew past Webster, posting a 55-9 victory. The Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 28 points or more this season.

Pawhuska can attribute much of their success to Hannah Reynolds, who went 7 for 11 en route to 17 points and four steals, and Brooklyn Miles, who made all 6 shots she took racking up 14 points. Miles is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Emillie Curry was another key player, putting up eight points.

Pawhuska was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Morrison was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 48-43 to Ripley. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Morrison's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Pawhuska, their win bumped their record up to 12-2.

Pawhuska strolled past Morrison in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 by a score of 38-24. Will Pawhuska repeat their success, or does Morrison have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
