Luray came into Thursday's match having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Stuarts Draft Cougars on Thursday, sneaking past 46-43. The Bulldogs' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Luray's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Stuarts Draft, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Luray will be home for the holidays to greet Wilson Memorial at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Stuarts Draft, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Alleghany at 7:00 p.m. on December 30th. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Stuarts Draft has won four straight at home, while Alleghany won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
