            Softball Recap: Sandia Prep Sundevils vs. Shiprock Chieftains        
        
		
        
        
            Sandia Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Wednesday as the team picked up their 13th straight  loss  dating back to last season. They came up short against  the Shiprock Chieftains, falling  22-12. One positive for the Sundevils, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
 Mary Otero led a balanced group of hitters,  scoring two  runs while going 1-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of  Madeline Draszkiewicz, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-5.

 Otero wasn't the only one working in the  hit department: Sandia Prep  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 17  hits. That's the most  hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Sandia Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Shiprock, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.
While Sandia Prep had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
