Softball Game Preview: Highland Huskies vs. Wallkill Panthers

The Highland Huskies will take on the Wallkill Panthers at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Highland will be strutting in after a win while Wallkill will be coming in after a defeat.

On Monday, Highland earned a 12-8 victory over Our Lady of Lourdes. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Wallkill faced off against Warwick on Wednesday. The Panthers fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 6-5. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wallkill saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Hunt, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. That double marked the first that Hunt has hit this season.

Wallkill's loss dropped their record down to 0-2-2. As for Highland, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Highland came up short against Wallkill in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, falling 8-5. Can the Huskies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
