Baseball Preview: Nordonia Knights vs. Hudson Explorers

Nordonia and Hudson are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2016, but likely not for long. The Nordonia Knights will head out on the road to challenge the Hudson Explorers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Nordonia took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand South a 10-0 shutout. The win was some much needed relief for Nordonia as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

The result came thanks to Matt Janosek's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, Tyler Reville was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Ebert, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, everything went Hudson's way against Chardon on Saturday as Hudson made off with a 10-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for Hudson.

Nordonia took their victory against Hudson in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 16-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for Nordonia since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
