Basketball Recap: McClave Cardinals vs. Eads Eagles

The McClave Cardinals entered their tilt with the Eads Eagles with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. McClave simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Eagles 65-37 on the road. That's another feather in the cap for McClave, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

McClave was led to victory by Jr. Mungaray and Tuff Kelley. Mungaray dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Kelley dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mungaray has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Conner Forgue, who scored 12 points along with five assists and two steals.

Despite the loss, Eads still got an impressive performance from Porter Spady, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Spady is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last seven games he's played. Stockton Mitchek was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.

McClave is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Eads, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McClave will take on the Wildcats at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Eads, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on February 8th.
