Basketball Recap: Lassen Comes Up Short

Lassen lost against Del Norte back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Lassen Grizzlies were dealt a 73-46 defeat at the hands of the Del Norte Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Grizzlies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1108th, while the Warriors are ranked 400th).

Lassen lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Zach Hart, who posted ten points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Joey Harrison, who earned six points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Lassen smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive matchups.

Lassen's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Del Norte, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Lassen wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 70-45 defeat against West Valley on the 7th. As for Del Norte, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 63-41 loss against Arcata on the 8th.
