Soccer Game Preview: Auburn vs. Lutheran

The Auburn Trojans will square off against the Lutheran Crusaders at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. Lutheran took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Auburn, who comes in off a win.

While Auburn's victory against Southwestern wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Trojans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Piasa Birds on Friday. Auburn wouldn't have won without Emme Divjak, who scored the game-winner.

Meanwhile, Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 5-0 to North Mac. The game was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly Lutheran struggled afterwards.

The victory got Auburn back to even at 9-9-1. As for Lutheran, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Auburn took their win against Lutheran in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 9-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
