Volleyball Game Preview: Carey Blue Devils vs. McComb Panthers

The Carey Blue Devils will take on the McComb Panthers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. McComb took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Carey, who comes in off a win.

On Thursday, Carey earned a 3-1 win over Seneca East.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 23-25, 25-16, 25-17.

Carey got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was McKinnley Kessler out in front who had 19 assists and seven digs. Kessler is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 14 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Bayah Harsanje, who had 14 digs.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when McComb faced off against Miller City on Thursday. The Panthers lost 3-0 to the Wildcats. The Panthers have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-11, 25-17.

McComb's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Carey, their win bumped their record up to 13-5.

Carey beat McComb 3-1 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
