Football Recap: Garinger Wildcats vs. Harding University Rams
Garinger was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They took an 18-0 bruising from the Harding University Rams. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 49-12 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2023.
Sabion Smith threw for 43 yards on three of 14 attempts.
Dominique Robinson was his top target, rushing for 28 yards. On the ground,
Kaymen Carroll rushed for 55 yards.
Harding University found their leader in underclassman Jonquarius Moody, who rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown on only five carries, and also caught a touchdown.
Garinger's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Harding University, the win snapped their losing streak at nine games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-2 record.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Garinger will head out to challenge Corvian Community at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Harding University, they will have plenty of time to enjoy the victory as they don't play again for a while. They'll take on Hopewell at 7:00 p.m. on September 20th.
