Preview: Hudson Blue Hawks vs. Cairo-Durham Mustangs
Hudson is 9-1 against Cairo-Durham since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Hudson Blue Hawks will head out on the road to face off against the Cairo-Durham Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Hudson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Friday.
Last Friday, it was close, but Hudson sidestepped Catskill for a 45-42 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Hudson.
Hudson relied on the efforts of Malia Jackson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds, and Amya Moore, who scored 18 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Jackson has scored at least 25% of Hudson's points.
Meanwhile, Cairo-Durham couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were outmatched by Greenville at home and fell 77-25. Cairo-Durham has struggled against Greenville recently, as their game on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Hudson's win bumped their season record to 2-1 while Catskill's loss dropped theirs to 0-2.
Everything came up roses for Hudson against Cairo-Durham in their previous meeting back in February as the team secured a 57-21 victory. Does Hudson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cairo-Durham turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
