Baseball Recap: Kennedy's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

While Kennedy's victory against Grant wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cougars had just enough and edged out the Pacers 12-11 on Wednesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Cougars needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Sean Whitfield was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Oliver Parkinson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Kennedy moved to 8-18 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Grant, they dropped their record down to 4-21 with the defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Kennedy will face off against West Campus at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. Grant does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
