Volleyball Recap: Cedar Ridge Starts off Right with Win over Person

Cedar Ridge gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Person Rockets 3-2. The Fighting Red Wolves have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Rockets, too.

Cedar Ridge got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the fourth set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-17, 20-25, 28-30, 15-3.

Leading Cedar Ridge to victory were Sydnee Tapper and Kaitlyn Dixon. Tapper had 29 digs and six assists, while Dixon had 13 digs and 11 assists. That's the most digs Tapper has posted since back in October of 2024.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cedar Ridge will square off against Southeast Alamance at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Person, they will challenge Franklinton at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
