Soccer Recap: Clinton Falls Short of Franklin Academy in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Clinton can now relate to. They came up short against the Franklin Academy Patriots on Monday, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, Clinton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 190th, while Franklin Academy are ranked 18th).

Clinton's loss dropped their record down to 12-9-3. As for Franklin Academy, they pushed their record up to 22-0 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home.

Clinton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Franklin Academy, they will challenge Seaforth at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few goals on average (Franklin Academy 0.4, Seaforth 0.3) so any goals scored will be well earned.
