Volleyball Recap: Overland Comes Up Short

Overland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They came up short against the Cherry Creek Bruins, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bruins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The final score came out to 25-8, 25-6, 25-8.

Overland's offense was headlined by Khadyn Chase- Deal and Aubrey Butler, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Abigail Napitupulu and her five assists.

Cherry Creek was led to victory by Aubrey Blake and Elsie Switzer. Blake had six digs and two aces, while Switzer had three aces and three assists. Those three aces gave Switzer a new career-high.

Overland's loss dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Cherry Creek, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Overland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Grandview on the 23rd. As for Cherry Creek, they have also already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Eaglecrest on the 23rd.
