Volleyball Game Preview: Howells-Dodge Jaguars vs. Osceola Bulldogs

The Howells-Dodge Jaguars will face off against the Osceola Bulldogs at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Howells-Dodge is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

It was a proper cat-fight when Howells-Dodge challenged North Bend Central on Tuesday. The Jaguars fell 3-1 to the Tigers.

While Howells-Dodge had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 22-25, 25-23, 25-19.

Despite the loss, Howells-Dodge saw an underclassman step up: freshman Brynn Throener had 11 digs.

High Plains typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Osceola proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Storm by a score of 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 23-25, 25-12, 25-13.

Howells-Dodge's defeat dropped their record down to 15-13. As for Osceola, their win bumped their record up to 22-8.

Howells-Dodge took their victory against Osceola in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jaguars since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
