Baseball Game Preview: Torrey Pines Falcons vs. San Marcos Knights

For the second straight game, Torrey Pines will face off against San Marcos. The Falcons will face off against the Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Torrey Pines' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so San Marcos' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

San Marcos hit Torrey Pines with a four-run first inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Falcons took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For San Marcos' part, they got a great performance from Carter Tsai as he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Tsai has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Colton Walker was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. Evan Hall was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

San Marcos pushed their record up to 12-4-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Torrey Pines, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.
