Baseball Recap: Kelly Takes a Loss

Kelly made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Portageville, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Hawks fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 3-1 on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Hawks in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost four in a row.

Kelly's loss dropped their record down to 10-17. As for Portageville, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season.

Kelly will square off against Scott County Central at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Braves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.44 runs per game on average), something the Hawks will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Portageville, they will host Cooter at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
