Basketball Recap: Brooks Piles Up the Points Against Richards

Brooks won against Horizon Science Academy-Southwest last Thursday with 71 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. The Brooks Eagles breezed by the Richards Warriors to the tune of 71-44. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 27 points or more this season.

Brooks had a senior duo take command as Jacob Johnson made all 6 shots he took to post 19 points and Bradley Pike went 6 for 10 on his way to 15 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Johnson a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Hayes, who posted seven points.

Brooks' victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.8 points. As for Richards, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brooks will head out to take on Longwood at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Brooks has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 210 points over their last three contests. As for Richards, they will head out on the road to square off against King at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. King is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.3 points per game this season.
