Softball Recap: Cherokee Braves vs. Swain County Maroon Devils

Cherokee's hitters rose to the challenge against a Maroon Devils pitching crew that boasted an average of only 3.63 points allowed on Thursday. Everything went the Cherokee Braves' way against the Swain County Maroon Devils as the Cherokee Braves made off with an 11-4 victory. The result was nothing new for Cherokee, who have now won three matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Swain County's part, Maddie Bird made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with a home run and a double. The team also got some help courtesy of Faith Woodard, who went 1-for-3 with a home run and three RBI.
