Volleyball Recap: Newbury Park Comes Up Short

Newbury Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Thousand Oaks Lancers. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lancers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Thousand Oaks scored at least 20 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-22, 18-25, 25-20.

Newbury Park's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Thousand Oaks, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Newbury Park will take on rival Agoura at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Thousand Oaks is set to face off against their familiar foe Calabasas at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
