Basketball Recap: Eastern Hills Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Victory

Eastern Hills extended their winning streak to seven games thanks to a huge performance from Dorian Johnson. The Eastern Hills Highlanders secured a 58-52 W over the Southwest Raiders on Tuesday thanks in part to Johnson, who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game.

Messiah Miller was another key player, going 6 for 8 on his way to 17 points. The match was his 14th in a row with at least ten points.

Eastern Hills has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 32.4% in those games and 19.8% outside of them. As for Southwest, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 18-9.

It'll be Eastside v. Westside when Eastern Hills and Western Hills meet at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Eastern Hills knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Western Hills likes a good challenge. As for Southwest, they will face off against Benbrook at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Benbrook is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.3 points per game this season.
