Baseball Recap: Carson Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Carson can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the San Pedro Pirates. That's more bragging rights for the Colts, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Joziah Agredano made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Carson is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 0-8 otherwise. Agredano was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other pitching news, Josiah Ripley tossed a big game, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Xavier Allen, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Nate Ruan was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Carson's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-9. As for San Pedro, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-5.

Looking ahead, Carson will square off against Rancho Dominguez at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for San Pedro, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Redondo Union on the 22nd.
