A feisty cat fight will be fought as McNairy Central Bobcats take on Trinity Christian Academy Lions at 6:20 p.m. on Friday. McNairy Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
McNairy Central took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They never let Lexington get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. While the Bobcats didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-18-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Case Stone made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.
Stone wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Davis, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
McNairy Central hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lexington struck out seven times.
Meanwhile, Trinity Christian Academy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over Lexington on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won three in a row.
Levi Baker tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Owen Atwood, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. He has become a key player for Trinity Christian Academy: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Richardson, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Trinity Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for McNairy Central, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
Trinity Christian Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. McNairy Central has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Trinity Christian Academy, though, as they've been averaging only 4 strikeouts.
