Baseball Recap: Asheboro's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak at Home

There's no place like home for Asheboro, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Leadership Academy Falcons 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Blue Comets have posted since April 29, 2024.

Jacob Tevebaugh was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam Curry, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Asheboro's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-9. As for Leadership Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.

Asheboro will square off against Central Davidson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Central Davidson has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Leadership Academy, they will take on Clover Garden School at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
