Baseball Recap: Pinson Valley Find Success

Pinson Valley posted their closest victory since April 11, 2024 on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Dothan Wolves by a score of 6-5 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Jamison Green spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jaylon Sharpe, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. He has become a key player for Pinson Valley: the team is 7-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-14 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Justice Lockwood, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Pinson Valley's record now sits at 8-16. As for Dothan, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-8 record this season.

Pinson Valley will take on Carbon Hill in a tournament on Tuesday. As for Dothan, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Carver Montgomery at 4:00 p.m.
