Softball Game Preview: Marion Local Flyers vs. Shawnee Indians

The Marion Local Flyers will face off against the Shawnee Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Marion Local lost 17-4 to Lincolnview on Saturday. The Flyers have struggled against the Lancers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Shawnee suffered their closest loss since May 3, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of Botkins by a score of 3-1.

Shawnee's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Marion Local, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Marion Local came out on top in a nail-biter against Shawnee in their previous meeting back in April of 2023, sneaking past 6-5. Will the Flyers repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
