The Crisp Academy Wildcats are taking a road trip to take on the Citizens Christian Academy Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Crisp Academy has struggled recently with 15 losses in a row, while Citizens Christian Academy will arrive with five straight victories.
Crisp Academy's offense might be in the hot seat on Thursday considering what happened against Vidalia Heritage Academy on Friday. They took a blow against the Eagles, falling 57-0. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Eagles are ranked third).
Meanwhile, Citizens Christian Academy got themselves on the board against Covenant Academy on Friday, but Covenant Academy never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Rams 35-0. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 29 points or more this season.
Citizens Christian Academy found their leader in freshman Bo Roberts, who picked up four sacks and made six total tackles. Dalton Rogers also rushed for 112 rushing yards, which is notable because the Patriots are undefeated when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Citizens Christian Academy proved: they limited Covenant Academy to a paltry two yards per carry. While one picked up at least six total tackles, Roberts stood above the rest. He picked up four sacks and made six total tackles. Citizens Christian Academy didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.3.
Citizens Christian Academy's defense also made the game a nightmare for Ethan Mills, racking up seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Roberts and Damian Duran, who racked up six sacks between them. Duran is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last four games he's played.
Citizens Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Crisp Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.
