Recap: Springfield Longhorns vs. Boise City Wildcats
The Springfield Longhorns scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. Everything went their way against Boise City as Springfield made off with a 70-50 win. Given Springfield's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 145th in Colorado, while Boise City is ranked 312th in Oklahoma), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Colby Batterton, who scored 36 points along with seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Cooper Stolebarger was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Springfield pushed their record up to 7-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Boise City, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Springfield will take on Kit Carson at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Boise City, they will play host again and welcome Felt, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
