Basketball Game Preview: King's Academy Lions vs. Grandview Prep Pride

Having just played yesterday, the King's Academy Lions will jump right back in to play the Grandview Prep Pride at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. King's Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.2 points per game this season.

King's Academy's tournament run continued when they took on Saint Andrew's on Friday. King's Academy fell 57-47 to Saint Andrew's. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Scots recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Javian Jones, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. The game was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Mcpherson, who posted 16 points.

Meanwhile, Grandview Prep entered their tilt with Braddock on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They rang in the new year with a 64-51 victory over the Bulldogs. Given the Pride's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 212th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 477th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Grandview Prep's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for King's Academy, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-2.
