Basketball Recap: Madison Comes Up Short

Madison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Humphrey-Lindsay Bulldogs and fell 54-24. The Dragons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-10.

Humphrey-Lindsay's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Claire Korth led the charge by putting up 12 points in addition to six assists and four steals. Korth has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 14 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Faith Korth, who posted nine points and three steals.

Madison's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Humphrey-Lindsay, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-3.

Madison will look to defend their home court on Monday against Central City at 5:45 p.m. Central City's defense has only allowed 27.1 points per game this season, so Madison's offense will have their work cut out for them. Humphrey-Lindsay has already played their next match (against Bancroft-Rosalie), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
