Softball Recap: Jay Royals vs. T.R. Miller Tigers

Jay was the 11-1 winner over T.R. Miller when they last played one another last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Jay Royals wound up on the wrong side of a rough 12-2 walloping at the hands of the T.R. Miller Tigers on Tuesday. Jay has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jay saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brett Watson, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

On T.R. Miller's side, Ollie Billingsley made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Billingsley was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and a double.

In other batting news, Meg Fountain was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. Rebekah Rowell was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Jay's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for T.R. Miller, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 25-10.

Jay will head out on the road to take on Northview at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Northview is coming into the matchup with six straight victories at home, so Jay will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for T.R. Miller, they will take on Handley at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
