Softball Recap: Pace Beats Navarre for Their Eighth Straight Victory

It's playoff time, and Pace had no trouble coming through when it counted. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Navarre Raiders a 4-0 shutout on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Patriots sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

Not much got past Hannah DeMarcus, who gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks to keep Navarre off the board. DeMarcus has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in 24 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Pace saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abby McLean, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. Another was Kamryn Pierce, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Pace pushed their record up to 23-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.2 runs on average over those games. As for Navarre, their loss dropped their record down to 15-10.

Pace has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Parrish Community on the 23rd. Navarre does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
