Softball Recap: North Comes Up Short

North extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 3-7. They came up short against the Ellet Orangement, falling 21-1. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Vikings couldn't push the score so high this time.

North saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Makenna Kreighbaum, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

As for Ellet, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 18 runs.

On Ellet's side, Ava Conelly made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Conelly was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Ellet got a massive performance out of Cassidy Piotrowski, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave Piotrowski a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kerra Eiseman, who fired off three triples, four runs, and one RBI while going 4-for-4.

North wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 18-5 loss against Lake Center Christian on the 22nd. As for Ellet, they will head out on the road to square off against Canton Central Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
