Baseball Recap: Reading Gets the Win

The Reading Rangers were able to grind out a solid win over the Waldron Spartans on Monday, taking the game 8-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rangers.

Keven Denison made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Reading is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-4 otherwise. Denison was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one RBI.

In other batting news, Chase Anderson was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Dominic Badgley, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

Reading always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory got Reading back to even at 5-5. As for Waldron, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Reading will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Spartans: the pair will be back at it again later today.
