Softball Game Preview: Northside Mustangs vs. Resurrection Bandits

Northside hasn't had much luck against Resurrection recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Mustangs will host the Bandits at 4:30 p.m. Northside has given up an average of 9.1 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Northside is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They took a 15-11 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lincoln Park. Even if the Mustangs couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Jilliyn Yung made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-4. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Jayda Rodriguez was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Resurrection fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Mother McAuley on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mighty Macs by a score of 7-6. The Bandits' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Northside's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Resurrection, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
