Softball Game Preview: Gardena Panthers vs. Banning Pilots

Gardena is 0-10 against Banning since May of 2021 but things could change on Monday. The Panthers will take on the Pilots at 3:15 p.m. Gardena has given up an average of 20.3 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Gardena is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Wednesday. They lost 11-1 to Narbonne.

Meanwhile, Banning was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-8 heartbreaker at the hands of South.

Kourtney Talanoa was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last four times she's played. Kali Sue was another key player, going 3-for-5 with one home run.

Gardena's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Banning, their loss dropped their record down to 7-14.

Gardena might still be hurting after the 25-0 defeat they got from Banning in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
