Soccer Recap: Ironwood Ridge Wins Going Away Against Sahuaro

After failing to score in their last match, Ironwood Ridge made sure to put some goals up on the board against Sahuaro on Monday. They blew past the Sahuaro Cougars 4-0. Given the Nighthawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Cougars are ranked 138th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ironwood Ridge hit Sahuaro with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Madeline Schultz, Kelsey Konishi, Dolciana Escobar, and Miranda Vanderbilt.

Ironwood Ridge's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Sahuaro, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Ironwood Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Mica Mountain on the 30th. Sahuaro has also already played their next match, a 7-1 loss against Canyon del Oro on the 28th.
