Football Recap: Javonie Webb's Big Game Can't Quite Lead New Hanover over Northside - Jacksonville

New Hanover played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 28-7 to the Northside - Jacksonville Monarchs. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Monarchs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

New Hanover lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Javonie Webb, who rushed for 132 yards. New Hanover also got help from Kellum Brown, who showed off his sure hands for 98 receiving yards.

Northside - Jacksonville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from RAHLAI ANDERSON, who rushed for 123 yards and two scores. Those two rushing touchdowns gave ANDERSON a new career-high. Another player making a difference was REGINALD GRAY, who rushed for 51 yards.

This is the second loss in a row for New Hanover and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Northside - Jacksonville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

New Hanover and Northside - Jacksonville will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Wildcats will square off against rival North Brunswick at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Northside - Jacksonville is set to challenge their familiar foe Richlands at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th.
