Basketball Preview: Summit Tigers vs. Aspen Skiers

Summit is 0-3 against the Skiers since January of 2023 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Summit Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Aspen Skiers at 7:00 p.m. Summit will be strutting in after a win while the Skiers will be coming in after a defeat.
Summit had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Basalt on Saturday and snuck past 60-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Summit's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emilio Jain, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Eduardo Gutierrez, who scored 16 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, after a string of 13 wins, Aspen's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 56-45 to Moffat County. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Aspen came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 164th).
The victory got Summit back to even at 9-9. As for Aspen, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-2.
Things could have been worse for Summit, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 47-31 loss to the Skiers in their previous meeting back in January. Will Summit have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other basketball content.
