Softball Recap: Baltic Bulldogs vs. Redfield Pheasants

The Baltic Bulldogs didn't have quite enough to beat the Redfield Pheasants on Tuesday and fell 6-5. That's two games in a row now that the Bulldogs have lost by just one run.

Charlee Blommer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kya Rollinger and Amelia Sinding stepped up to the plate in a big way. Rollinger went 1-for-4 with one home run, while Sinding went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Rollinger is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Ellie Pickett was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Baltic and nudges their season record down to 13-6. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Redfield, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 7-7.

As of now, neither Baltic nor the Pheasants have any future games scheduled.
