Softball Game Preview: Lakeside Lancers vs. San Jacinto Tigers

The Lakeside Lancers will take on the San Jacinto Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Rancho Verde hit Lakeside with a eight-run fourth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Lancers came up short against the Mustangs, falling 13-1. The Lancers haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Lakeside saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Savana Swick, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Wednesday. San Jacinto lost 9-3 to Elsinore.

Kamorah Johnson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Keyera Cameron was another key player, earning two runs and three stolen bases.

Lakeside's loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for San Jacinto, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

San Jacinto's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Lakeside has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for San Jacinto, though, as they've been averaging only 3.9 strikeouts. Will Lakeside keep running through batters, or will the Tigers buck the trend?
