Basketball Recap: Harrison Comes Up Short

Harrison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 52-32 to the Widefield Gladiators. The Panthers were not able to make up for their loss to the Gladiators from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Harrison still got an impressive performance from Nadia Turnipseed, who almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Turnipseed a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (40%).

It was another big night for Isabella Monk, who went 9-for-19 en route to 20 points in addition to seven boards and five steals for Widefield. Monk is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kiley Boomsliter, who posted six points.

Harrison's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Widefield, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-6.

Harrison has already played their next game, a 53-24 victory against Pueblo Central on the 8th. As for Widefield, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-16 win against Sierra on the 8th.
