Grapevine dropped down to 6-2 on Saturday, ending the team's six-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Leander Lions by a score of 2-1. The contest marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

As for Leander, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2. While they didn't have the best season last year (they finished 16-28), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Leander can attribute much of their success to Sierra Lumbreras, who had six digs and five aces. Those five aces gave Lumbreras a new career-high. Troy Acevedo also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Grapevine has already played their next game, a 2-0 win against St. Michael's on the 16th. As for Leander, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Vandegrift on the 16th.
