Softball Recap: Dublin's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak at Home

Dublin managed to slip by Amador Valley the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Dublin Gaels lost 14-4 to the Amador Valley Dons on Thursday. The Gaels were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Charlie Sicat was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. That home run was her first of the season.

Dublin's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-5. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 11.17 hits in those games compared to only 4.2 in the others. As for Amador Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dublin will take on Foothill at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Amador Valley, they will venture away from home to face off against Livermore at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
