Softball Recap: Riddle Comes Up Short

Riddle fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Glendale on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 11-10. The defeat continues a trend for the Irish in their meetings with the Pirates: they've now lost seven in a row.

Jazmin Estrada made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 4-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Kyra Light, who went 1-for-5 with two runs and one stolen base.

Riddle now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Glendale, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-6.

While Riddle had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
